NEVÜ Vice Coordinator for Education and Instruction Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergin Erginer Participated as a Speaker at the Mentorship and Peer Support Summit

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergin Erginer, Vice Coordinator for Education and Instruction at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) and a faculty member of our department, participated as a keynote speaker in the Mentorship and Peer Support Summit, organized within the scope of the R&D Meetings coordinated by the Strategy Development Presidency of the Ministry of National Education.

The summit, which focused on mentorship and peer support practices aimed at promoting students' social, emotional, and academic development, brought together academics, educational administrators, and teachers. Organized in line with the holistic educational philosophy of the Türkiye Century Education Model (Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli), the event aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices and to develop applicable models for different levels of schooling.

The program commenced with the opening remarks of Mr. Yusuf Yazıcı, Provincial Director of National Education. During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergin Erginer delivered a presentation entitled “Theoretical Framework of Mentorship and Peer Support.” In his presentation, he discussed the role of mentorship and peer support within educational settings, their contributions to students' academic and social development, and their significance in fostering a sustainable school culture. He also shared contemporary theoretical perspectives and current research findings related to these educational practices.

The summit also featured sessions addressing the significance of mentorship practices within the education system, school-based support mechanisms, and collaborative models designed to enhance student development. In the afternoon, workshops were organized for preschool, primary school, middle school, high school, and special education levels. These workshops focused on teacher mentoring, peer support, sustainable implementation models, and school-based strategies for addressing educational challenges.

In an evaluation issued by the NEVÜ Office of Education and Instruction Coordination, it was emphasized that sharing the University's academic expertise in education with various institutions and stakeholders constitutes an important contribution to society. The statement further affirmed the University's commitment to supporting both scientific research and practice-oriented initiatives aimed at improving the education system.
