Mission: While the Department of Curriculum and Instruction tries to effectively carry out its duties of education, research, production of science and social contribution; it has also undertaken to raise its students as individuals who have internalized democratic values, are secular, contemporary, committed to Atatürk's principles and revolutions, who research, question, think, produce and can adapt to changes. It aims to raise experts, teachers and academicians who are sensitive to people, society and nature, who understand the place and role of themselves and their profession in social and educational development, who have gained professional competence and ethical responsibility; who perceive continuous development as a way of life; who have adopted a scientific way of thinking and working; who are concerned about public interests and who can think creatively and critically. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction aims to interact with other departments of the Department of Educational Sciences both scientifically and socially.
To develop learning environments where students can discuss problems related to education, produce solutions, and express themselves freely, to create an environment that is aware of its social responsibilities, values quality in academic studies, is open to interdisciplinary approaches, shares knowledge, bases its evaluations on academic criteria, supports productivity and creative thinking, and to establish a culture that will sustain this, to organize national and international congresses, symposiums, panels, conferences, workshops, etc. in interaction and cooperation with various sub-disciplines of educational sciences and other social sciences, to carry out theoretical and applied research projects and make publications, to create a physical and technological environment that facilitates access to information, communication and interaction by students, academic and administrative staff, and to ensure that all academic and administrative activities are carried out with an honest, open, democratic and participatory approach.
Vision: The basic vision of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to continue research activities by providing education, training and consultancy services in its field with an understanding that examines and questions education from a scientific perspective and strives to increase its effectiveness every day. Our department, in addition to providing undergraduate level professional knowledge courses to students in other fields, has undertaken the task of continuing education in departments by opening master's and doctoral programs. In addition, faculty members also take part in professional development courses and seminars. The vision of being a department that contributes to the production of knowledge through theoretical and applied research in the field of educational sciences; examines the educational problems of society on the basis of individuals' rights to education, equality and respect for human rights, develops solution proposals and pioneers in determining policies in this direction; and shares its knowledge with the national and international academic community, public and private institutions, civil society organizations and individuals has been adopted.
