A workshop entitled “Transforming Traditional Children's Games into Instructional Games through Creative Drama” was organized as part of the eTwinning Provincial Coordinators and Teams Workshop, jointly funded by the European Union and the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and conducted in collaboration with the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Technologies (YEĞİTEK).
The workshop was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergin Erginer, Vice Coordinator for Education and Instruction at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) and a faculty member of the Department of Educational Sciences. Throughout the program, participants engaged in practical activities focusing on the integration of creative drama into teaching and learning processes, the design of experiential learning environments based on the principle of learning by doing and experiencing, the active role of teachers in facilitating learning, and strategies for increasing student engagement. In addition, participants explored practical examples demonstrating how elements of cultural heritage can be effectively integrated into contemporary educational settings. By experiencing each stage of the creative drama process, participants developed innovative instructional approaches that could be adapted to their own educational practices.
Commenting on the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergin Erginer stated that the event represented a successful example of collaboration between Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University and the Ministry of National Education. He remarked:
“Collaborative initiatives such as this provide valuable opportunities for teachers and academics to develop creative approaches to teaching and learning together. As NEVÜ, we will continue to support innovative, participatory, and interactive educational practices.”
It was also announced that collaborative initiatives between NEVÜ and the Ministry of National Education will continue in the coming years, particularly in the areas of innovative teaching methods and teacher education.
